Group handled 500 pax Shandong-Malaysia Economic and Trade Exchange Conference In May 2023

MCI Group successfully handled 500 pax Shandong-Malaysia Economic and Trade Exchange Conference on May 29th, 2023 .

Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing pointed out that China's Shandong Province and Malaysia have broad prospects for cooperation in the fields of electronics, chemicals, automobile manufacturing, mining machinery, and tropical agriculture.

He said that in 2022, the import and export trade volume between Shandong Province and Malaysia recorded US$41.03 billion (the same below, approximately RM189.046 billion), a year-on-year increase of 85.8%.

"The industries in Shandong and Malaysia are highly complementary, and there is broad space for cooperation. Shandong is also the province with the largest trade volume between China and Malaysia, accounting for one-fifth of the total trade volume between the two countries."

Ouyang Yujing said in his speech at the China (Shandong)-Malaysia Economic and Trade Cooperation and Exchange Conference today that the total bilateral trade between China and Malaysia in 2022 will reach US$203.6 billion, setting a record, and China has become Malaysia's largest trading partner for 14 consecutive years.

Over 500 Malaysian and Chinese companies from various industries gathered at the Kuala Lumpur Marriott Hotel to participate in the matchmaking event.

This event was also one of the key events during a series of economic and trade activities for hundreds of Shandong enterprises to enter ASEAN, and during their visits to Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia. Five memoranda of understanding were also signed on the spot.

Vip Guests attending the seminar included: Lin Yuan, Vice Chairman of the Shandong Provincial Committee of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Liang Jinguang, Deputy Secretary of the Binzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Binzhou Beihai Economic Development Zone, and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Investment Department of the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA). Lim Mee Min, Deputy Director of the China and Northeast Asia Department of the Malaysian External Trade Development Council (MATRADE) Tuan Sae Mohd Fairoos, President of the China-ASEAN Business Association Tan Sri Lim  , President of the Malaysia-China General Chamber of Commerce KS Loo, President of  China Entrepreneurs Association in  Malaysia (PUCM) Datuk Li Zhongping and others.
