Guan Eng: DAP will not follow if Anwar moves out of Harapan
With Umno reaffirming its support for Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin's Perikatan Nasional (PN) government, questions abound if it's ''game over'' for PKR president Anwar Ibrahim's aim to be prime minister.

Anwar, the current Port Dickson MP, has been contending for the PM's post since he was sacked from Umno in 1998, over sodomy charges.

His latest move to include Umno MPs in his effort to topple Muhyiddin did not rest well with his Pakatan Harapan coalition partner, DAP.

Here, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng speaks to Malaysiakini about the party's future in Harapan, on PKR's decision to work with Umno to reclaim the federal government, and if DAP will continue to back Anwar as PM if Umno is in the equation to bolster the PKR chief's majority to topple Muhyiddin.

In this question-and-answer (Q&A) session that took place in Penang, DAP makes it clear that PKR needs to clarify its direction.

DAP also reiterated that working with Umno or with those who betrayed the people's GE14 mandate that led to Harapan's victory in 2018 was untenable as ''traitors die a thousand miserable deaths alone, as they have nothing to trade except the naked pursuit of power''.
